Welcome to the official website of Mauriwood FIAA, a non-profit NGO which promotes film making and the creative arts, entrepreneurship and craftsmanship in Mauritius and in the Indian Ocean to create employment, alleviate poverty and fight social scourges. The term "Mauriwood" refers to the new wave Mauritian film making.
Island Nature Reborn — Coming Soon!
10 years after the success of the film "JULIE" which premiered in March 2013, we are proud to announce our upcoming documentary film: "Island Nature Reborn" — a 1 hour 15 minute documentary covering the wonderful work done by our local NGOs. The production has been funded by the MOL Charitable Trust. We look forward to seeing you at MCINE theatres at its release!
Recreative Learning in Film & Video Production
Our dedicated team of trainers tours around the island training vulnerable groups, youngsters and women entrepreneurs in video production. This program is funded by the NSIF.
Video Production for NGOs & Organisations
Mauriwood FIAA supports local and regional NGOs by producing videos for educational tutorials, awareness campaigns and visual portfolios to showcase achievements for funding purposes. Our filming team is ready to deploy its arsenal for noble social causes.
Mauriwood Film & Creative Centre (MFCC)
The MFCC at Forest Side will house a mini film studio with a stage, video editing room, sound recording booth, craftsmanship workshop and a gallery of film props and artistic creations — a first in Mauritius!
